This demo shows the FBK real-time system for detection of speech activity using close-talk microphones, given the fact that the speakers overlap in time one each other.
The system works in two stages:
- The detection is based on the speech energy in each channel.
- Postprocessing is done to remove cross-talk false alarms based on the energy information of all signals, when more than one speaker is supposed to be active at the same time.
Possible applications: speech activity in automatic detection of group dynamics in small-group meetings.
